Christmas Eve

I love love love Christmas Eve with the sweetest kiddos I know! And wearing our matching PJs!!!!

Christmas Adam

A friend at work told me that Christmas Eve Eve is actually called Christmas Adam--which makes total sense. It also is a special day for us. We celebrate Christmas with my side of the family on Christmas Eve at lunch and the Jackson kids have been spending the night before with me for a couple of years. It is one of my favorite things--we make cookies for Santa and just get lots of good snuggle time.

Dean is two!

I can't believe our sweet baby is already two! It seems like he just arrived and like he's always been here at the same time. He loves Pooh and had two very special guests at his party.  When Becca returned, I told her she missed Tigger and Dean pointed and reprimanded her for it.

Christmas Stuff

John worked so hard this year and was so proud that he earned a guitar from Gibson. 

 We were so glad to see the Nutcracker with our sweet friend Noah this year.

 John and his dad got in a quick jam session when we celebrated Christmas with them.

School program

Emmy's school had a Christmas program for the second graders this year. We are so proud of her that she was chosen as one of the featured square dancers.

New puppy

It has been years since we have had a puppy in our home and I had forgotten just how mischievous they can be.

This weekend, Elly has eaten:

• Ken's arm
• Medical wrapping tape
• Rubbermaid container lid
• Stuffed Santa
• Half of a pecan pie
• Shrimp cheese ball in package
• Nerf dart
• Salt dough ornaments--half of a dozen. Shared the other half of a dozen with Luke
• Emmy and Daddy's arms (I consider this more of a chewing that eating, but Emmy insisted it was on the list.)

(Update Wednesday). Today I woke to this gruesome scene. A massaging neck pillow, bird ornament, more salt dough cookies, beaded ornament, scotch tape and that poor Barbie. 

Funny Girl

Awe the funny things she says….

This morning, the Today show was on while we were getting ready. I was out of the room and when I came back she asked if ordered our Christmas presents online. I asked why and she just wanted an answer so I told her that I had. “Well, we won’t get them.” Why, I asked… “Robbers. They are taking things off peoples porches!”

Yesterday, at church we were talking about her getting her ears pierced for her 8^th birthday and I told her she had to ask her daddy. Of course he said yes. “Oh my gosh; I am so excited I just pooted!”

We had a work event for families and I was very clear with Emmy that I needed her to be on her best behavior. Specifically, not to be smart alack to which she replied, "So you don't want me to be me?" Yes. That is exactly what I mean.

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving in Jonesboro with John's family.  Our sweet Luke is not doing so well so we took him with us. That made for an extra fancy trip! After that we got to celebrate Julia's birthday at Build a Bear. The best part was that Solomon wanted to come home with me! We had all the kids in the our car for a quick ride and Rose asked Sol to take a 'selfie' of her.

I know we have to get our Christmas cards out first since we moved since last year. Our friend George was so nice to come by and take our pictures. We are so happy to be able to show off our newest Burton--Elly!

Halloween

What a wild party. Emmy wanted to be a zombie bride so I was the zombie mother of the bride. When we went to make smores, one of Emmys friends mom told me to be careful with all the hairspray I was wearing. I told her there wasn't a bit of spray in this hair--my hair lives for these events!!

 

We also went to Idlewild Presbyterian for their party. This time she was Frankiestein from Monster High. Always fun with our sweet friends!

Brownies

Emmy moved up to a Brownie this year from her Daisy Scout troop. (And lost possibly the world's worst troop leader, her mom.)
