Awards Day

Emmy's school has an awards ceremony every 9 weeks. We are so lucky that she makes honor roll and gets something each time but it can be a challenge to be there every time. The one time we didn't make it, she got a special award for Science. I know these little things are going to be the things we miss most when she starts Junior High.

This time, however, she was awfully snarky and refused to give me a hug when I dropped her off for school. Hmph. I think she was happy to see me at the awards ceremony. I am not sure, but maybe. The best part was when she stood up and I jumped up and down in my costume--it brought her to giggles, which is always the best part of my day.

Cabin trip

Each year, a group of our friends goes to 'the cabin' on the MLK holiday weekend. We alternate who selects the place and this year was ours. Off to Hot Springs we went to a ridiculously large house to accommodate us all. The kids went for the first year.

Universal Studios

Lucas is about the biggest Harry Potter fan EVER so we hopped over to Universal Studios for his Christmas gift this year. Of course, Emmy and I are not big fans so we weren't really sure about what to expect. Thankfully, our expert led the way.
