Happy Birthday Sweet Julia!



Our precious friend Julia celebrated her birthday just after Thanksgiving. We were so excited to get with our friends and go to see Annie at the Playhouse on the Square. Before we went, we all met for YoLo, our very favorite frozen yogurt.

 

 I have to say that this was one party that I did not leave worrying if the guest of honor liked her gift. I think we did well.

My biggest  regret so far this quarter has been telling Emmy that she could pick out whatever she wanted to wear on non-school days since she wear a uniform to school. Big mistake. We were so excited to spend Thanksgiving in Wynne and then to Newport to visit the Salinases in their new home. Lucas and Emmy made Best Friend Badges. They crack me up sometimes.

I am so sad that I can't figure out how to edit this to get it orientated correctly but OH MY GOSH how perfect this video is. I am not sure what I love most... the hair extensions, the forgotten guitar strummings, the lyrics that she wrote herself or the background dancer. It's just magical.

Thanksgiving Program

Emmy's kindergarten group had their Thanksgiving Program and of course, I cried the entire time thinking of how thankful I am for this precious child.

Now, I have to say that I am thrilled with her (new) kindergarten teacher but seriously, can they not have made her unroll her socks or straightened her hairbow???

Oh that Funny Girl--and her daddy

Emmy told me she had a horrible nightmare. I asked her what happened and she said Oprah had given her three bad haircuts and everyone from Scooby Doo was there and laughed at her.

 

When she was telling Aunt Becca about it, it was that Lady Gaga had given her the bad haircuts but I am not sure where she even heard of Lady Gaga.

 

John might drive me batty sometimes but he can be a pretty awesome dad. Here are my three funniest thoughts of them… every night, they go tell the car good night together, or as I call, setting the alarm.  No matter where she is sleeping, when he gets up to go to work in the morning, John always puts stuffed animals or pillows on the edge of the bed so that she doesn’t roll off the edge. And my personal favorite, she is still a little nervous to take showers and wants John to take one with her. So, he will put on his swimsuit and take a shower with her every now and then. Pretty good stuff.

Sweet Visit

Last Friday was Momma's birthday. I had really missed spending some good quality time with Sol and Rose so I managed to get them on Sunday night since we were out of school for Veteran's Day. I had this big canvas that I got for them to paint and then we made a birthday cake for Momma. The next morning, they played with dolls forever. Solomon was in his astronaut suit and would get on the exerciser and say he was heading to the moon to work. Rose and Emmy would stand on either side and kiss him goodbye. Hysterical. Momma would have adored these babies.

 

 

 

 

Halloween

 

 

Kincaide invited us over for a Halloween party this year. We had so much fun with so many friends and hanging out in such an awesome neighborhood--full of decorations for one of our favorite holidays.

Strawberry was singing her heart out on the way home. She loves Neon Trees and sings it all the time.

I have to say that this picture is one of my favorites though. I love that Emmy was able to spend some good times with everyone in Wynne. She told me Julia didn't come but Pocahontas showed up.

Watch out for the camera phone

This morning, I put on my deodorant and Emmy said, “I can’t wait until I am 13 so that I have a phone and I can take a video of you doing that and put it on the internet”.

Halloween Carnival at Idlewild

Emmy's school has a carnival for Halloween as a fundraiser each year. We are so glad that Nana is nutso enough to want to spend a day with kids so she brought Kenden and Lucas over to go wtih Emmy. Kenden is one awesome Captain America and Lucas is one awesome karate dude--karate dude with a lightsaber. Emmy hated the witch's dress I made her but I got a few photos before she refused to wear it. 

 

At the carnvial, Emmy ran into her friend Sloan as soon as we arrived. She was so excited. I was volunteering so that Emmy could get a denim day. I understand that she won't wear jeans but really, I can't be the reason she can't wear them on denim day if she does want to wear them! John was in charge of photos so this is what I got. Happy Birthday, John B

Our precious Rose was sick and couldn't go to the party but we made sure to have enough fun for her. It was wonderful. I can't believe how big and adorable John B is.
