Three Years Old

Oh my sweet girl, you are three. THREE! I say that I can't believe you are three already but then again, I can't remember my life before you. For so long, everyone always told us how much you looked like your daddy, and it is true. Now, you are turning into a little Mini Me. I think it's the hair, the curls do it... I say that only to say that you are so much more beautiful than me, so much sweeter and have so much in your future. There are so many things that remind me of myself at this age.

One morning, we forgot your blanket that we had to go back home and get it before school. It was especially sweet because it was a quilted heart blanket that Grandma Jackson made for me when I was little and you just love it. It was exceptionally sweet this day because it was Grandma Jackson's birthday. I told you that my grandma had made that blanket for me and you just said, "I want to hug her". Me too, Emmy Ruth, me too. I told you she was in heaven and we had a little talk about heaven. You sweet girl, you have so many people in heaven that love you; I wish for you to always know that and to carry the strength, grace and courage of them in your heart always.

Your daddy and I love you so much and we are tickled to pieces with the funny things you say. Today we went to Walmart and I had told you that you could carry in your teddy bear. As your dad was getting you out of the car, he tried to convince you to leave it, and then asked me if I told you that you could bring it in and I said I thought I did. You called out, "yes you did!!" Always keeping me on my game--it's something you do so well and we are so grateful.

Thanks for giving us the best three years ever, Emmy Ruth, We Love You, Mama and Dadoo
