The Girl is Nine

What do you do to celebrate 9? Half way to being able to vote. One year until double digits. A third of the way to daddy letting her date. The list goes on and on. You are the honorary duckmaster at The Peabody of course! We invited a few of her friends to spend the night with us at the historic hotel. We took a carriage ride, ate dinner downtown, swam in the pool in the basement, had breakfast room service and then watched the ducks march the next morning.

Emmy loved the musical Matilda so we had a Matilda themed party.

I think she specifically loved the cake poor little Brucey had to eat all by himself.

Rose looked remarkably like an Elf on the Shelf.

My favorite part of eating at The Peabody are the little duck shaped butters!

Nine little girls have a lot of luggage. Even for just one night.

Hijacking John's phone

I snagged John's phone for these random shots!

Snow!

We were told to expect up to eight inches of snow. The whole city was excited and couldn't wait--schools were cancelled ahead of time, the stores were crazy and the road were already a tizzy. Of course, very little happened. John and Emmy sent me pics of them playing in the snow and Emmy texted me that playing in the snow wasn't fun without "mom or snow".  John said there was not enough snow to build a snowman so they built a snow squirrel.
