We were having a few issues towards the end of the year so we promised Emmy a trip to the American Girl store if she made all As. She did and so did we! Our awesome travel buddies, the Salinases, were up for a trip to St. Louis and it is a fabulous friend that goes to the American Girl store with his best girl.

Good morning!
Every morning, I wake Emmy and carry her on my back into the living room for her to watch TV while she fully wakes. Our routine is quite silly as she waits "patiently" as I lay down one blanket (the leather couch is just too cold) so she can lie down and then cover her with another blanket. This one is one Grandma Jackson made my cousin Cathy's son and Cathy sent me when Emmy was born. Emmy named it Thunderbolt Lightening Dash. I told her Thunderbolt Lightening Dash was going to be too short soon since she was growing (Emmy not Thunderbolt Lightening Dash). Emmy replied that it was ok, when she got old she would shrink so they would fit each other again.

New opportunities
Our lives took a big turn in April. My boss and mentor, who had led the Credit Association for many years, retired and I was selected as her replacement. I am humbled and honored and excited and terrified.
There have been some really exciting things happening.
Having my name on all of the checks has been surreal. I made sure that the first check we issued was made payable to my dad.
I was named as a Power Player in Memphis Business.
It was in several newspapers.
I got this amazing text from one of my VPs on the day it was announced to our team.
When it was posted on Facebook, there were some amazing posts written congratulating me. Most of them were like these and just about all of them brought me to tears.
I wish more than anything Momma was here to see this.
But I am pretty thankful for sweet friends who took me out to celebrate. Good times, y'all, good times.
