Family Literacy Night

Emmy's school had a Family Literacy Night today. She has been so excited about it because they got to dress up as their favorite character from a book. Emmy went as the always literary classic, Barbie, from Barbie in the Pink Shoes. The kids got to have a parade across the stage and then head to the library for the opening night of the book fair. John and I were so proud of her and excited that she wanted to go to something at school. We love that she loves her school!!!

Her friend Polina was dressed as Ariel.

Emmy writing her name, her character, and the book name for the Master of Ceremonies to read as she crossed the stage.

Emmy and her friend Lauren. They went to preschool together and are just precious.

Love Notes

I like to think of this as Emmy and Lucas’s first friendship note to each other. Lucas originally wrote that he liked Emmy when he was here for her party and then Emmy replied in like. Then she drew the picture of them. Sweet stuff.

Just a part of the morning routine...

As we rushed around in our morning dance, I called out to Emmy to put on her coat. I overheard her say “good Lord” under her breath and immediately reprimanded her. She replied, “What? I was just thanking God that you are my mom!” Yeah, that is it.

As I was brushing her hair, she was being so Emmy and I said, “where did you get all this dramatic flair?” And then I stopped myself. Because I know.
