We decided to lay low this New Years Eve and a couple of John's friends came over. Emmy was so excited about decorating for 'our party' so we invited her friend Noah and his mom over to party for a bit. She went a little crazy with the confetti, I must admit.

A very merry Christmas!!!!
This was not the Christmas we expected but we certainly had a Christmas of miracles. Papa Ricand we had surgery one week before Christmas and was home in time to celebrate the snow and ice in Batesville. We celebrated the weekend. Papa Richie gave Emmy Ruth her first American Girl dolls--the twins to be exact. She loves them and talks about 'the girls' and we adore them. The have been with us to dinner and we all have loved cuddling with them.
On Christmas Eve, we had to tell Elfie good bye until next year. Of course she can't touch him, so she gave him a un-touching hug before she went to bed.

Oh what a little girl Christmas!!!! There were Barbies and Barbie cruise ships and all types of fun things.
And of course, her new bike--complete with a baby carseat. The new helmet is perfect for a princess and works when skateboarding too.
Emmy loves talking about going to Paris--I am not sure where she has picked up this fascination but she is quite certain about going. Santa thought that this Eiffel Tower bank would be a great place to save her money for the trip.
When Brave came out in the theatres, we went to see it with Aunt Cathy and Jandad. It was only fitting that they wanted to celebrate Merida style.

Baby Dean
Dean Alexander is here! He's just as adorable as he could be and by far the most amazing Christmas present we have ever gotten. He arrived on December 22nd at 7 pounds and 11 ounces and 21 inches long.

Happy Birthday Sweet Julia!
Our precious friend Julia celebrated her birthday just after Thanksgiving. We were so excited to get with our friends and go to see Annie at the Playhouse on the Square. Before we went, we all met for YoLo, our very favorite frozen yogurt.
I have to say that this was one party that I did not leave worrying if the guest of honor liked her gift. I think we did well.
Thanksgiving pics
My biggest regret so far this quarter has been telling Emmy that she could pick out whatever she wanted to wear on non-school days since she wear a uniform to school. Big mistake. We were so excited to spend Thanksgiving in Wynne and then to Newport to visit the Salinases in their new home. Lucas and Emmy made Best Friend Badges. They crack me up sometimes.
Best Song Ever.
Thanksgiving Program
Emmy's kindergarten group had their Thanksgiving Program and of course, I cried the entire time thinking of how thankful I am for this precious child.
Now, I have to say that I am thrilled with her (new) kindergarten teacher but seriously, can they not have made her unroll her socks or straightened her hairbow???
